Episode 1705: Leoven is apparently tasty

Two weeks in a row, we're on a roll! It was a close call on whether we could game today or not, snow and the south do not get along well and all. As a reminder, this group consists of:

Tsedek, our charming Tiefling Rogue

Itanis, a devious High Elf Wizard, fond of controlling any situation we may find ourselves in

Leoven, our quiet but effective Wood Elf Ranger

Magnus, the Human Paladin of Heironious, he has followed a vengeance path

Elle, the small but sparky High Elf Wizard, fond of blowing things up with lots of fire

When last we left this group, Magnus had "booped the snoot" of a hell-tank with a communion wafer, banishing the beast back to hell. We had the two outriders to deal with as well as the pissed off driver of the tank. See, when the tank poofed, the rider fell flat on his buttocks on the ground.

One of the outriders was hassling Elle and Fauxtanis while the other was occupying Leoven's space. The driver was on the ground by Magnus.

So we got to the business of destroying these evil creatures.

The outrider in Leoven's space was entertaining. Leoven, being a ranged sort, kept attempting to get away from the outrider to shoot him. The outrider though apparently had short-range teleport and kept getting up in his face to flail and chew on Leoven. He took a lot more damage this fight then normal.

Itanis and Fauxtanis dug in and started flinging flying caltrops (animate objects, classic Itanis) at the outriders and doing a ton of damage, eventually taking them both out.

Elle, in classic Elle fashion, proceeds to start flinging ice storm at the driver and then following up with a star from the crown of stars. As she was running out of spells she wound up having to go to fireball, then sunbeam, always chasing it up with a star from the crown of stars.

The real fun was the Tsedek and Magnus vs rider fight. Tsedek slid around to flank with Magnus against the driver. The driver, he was a tough nut to crack. He blinded Tsedek and Magnus at one point, which Tsedek ignored. He dealt a LOT of necrotic damage to Magnus. But both Tsedek and Magnus kept hitting him, along with Elle's spells, so he tried running away. The driver didn't get anywhere though as Magnus pummeled him with a Sentinel attack. So the driver cast feeble mind* on Magnus in desperation, but Magnus kept swinging.

The driver was finally taken out by a flung star from the crown of stars, and he went out screaming telepathically at us.

And that was the end of this session, us catching our breath after a series of tough fights. More soon!

*feeble mind drops the target's intelligence and charisma to 1. Which means the target can not communicate and can not cast spells.
